303Lowe came to us with a cracking idea:
Two riders stopped at the lights, one checking out Harley Davidson’s new rims, and the girl checking out the biker.
The challenge here was to not only get the scene shot but to show it reflected clearly and realistically in the new wheel, all the while showing off the new alloys.
The only way was to combine 3D and traditional elements.
We created the wheel in 3D, then asked Steve Greenaway to shoot the scene, which we retouched and mapped on to the wheel in 3D space. This created a realistic reflection but was, as expected, too distorted; So we then overlaid it again in retouching and brushed through some of the beautiful liquid reflections from the 3D combining the shot elements.
